Mu Guan (Wood Pass 22.26) and Gu Guan (Bone Pass 22.24) are two points on the proximal palmar surface of the hand.

  • Mu Guan 22.26 is located diagonal to PC 7. Specifically, it is 0.5 cun distal and 0.5 cun lateral (toward the ulna) from PC 7.

  • Gu Guan 22.24 is located diagonally to PC 7, but this one is 0.5 cun distal and 0.5 cun medial (toward the radius) from PC 7.

I’ve successfully used them to treat plantar fasciitis as well! Henry McCann’s atlas of Tung acupuncture points contains these points.

I’m about to start a job as an acupuncturist at the cancer hospital of a large medical center. It’s been a couple years since I closed my practice and your notes are a wonderful review! Thank you, Cat💕

Thank you for posting this bit about mu guan and gu guan! I couldnt find any source for these points, not even in Susan Johnson's book. I was starting to think I made them up. I have cured so many cases of plantar fasciitis with these points. I am so glad to find your post here so I can share it with my students.
